My ideal morning would include:
- a head of hair that does not make me look like a rabid werewolf
- a toddler that does not forcibly shove both hands into my bra for a fondle (I swear, boobs are their crack)
- kids who keep their voices down until I’m fully awake (like, completely off…preferably)
- breakfast that makes itself
But for now I have this:
- a hubster who pours my coffee and hugs me nice-nice before leaving for work
- Netflix to entertain the kids for a bit while I check e-mail and caffeinate
- bobby pins to hold my hair back so that I look semi-human
- a big kid who, on occasion, takes the lead and makes eggs for the whole crew
What’s on your simple wish list this morning?
Mostly I wish for hair that doesn’t make me look like a rooster and not puffy luggage under my eyes. Oh and maybe also maybe a sexy man to wake up next to?
Please, we need a rabid werewolf self portrait to happen in our lives. And The Hell is up with boob fondling toddlers? That’s a pet peeve of mine too.
No joke with the boob fondles! I couldn’t even breastfeed my daughter so I’m completely confused as to where the tittie-fixation came from.
My wish list includes only one thing… not having to open my eyes until at least 10. That is all I ask.
…mug of hot coffee bedside right as the alarm goes off….
walking into the kitchen to find lunches already packed and us leaving for school/work on time
we’re always running late in the morning…
beautiful light and shadows here
my boobs are crack. I want that on a t-shirt.
my wish would be the simple thing that life itself would be a little more simple..
-SATC marathon on tv
-fair trade milk chocolate with almonds (why is this impossible to find?)
-tickets to see the wpg jets play
-a collection of Babar books to read with my little girl
love the blog (just found it on freshly pressed)
This morning? It would have been to get up on time, but most mornings are just to linger a few more minutes over toast. Yup . . . toast! But on the weekend, I would just like to stay in PJs all day with round the clock breakfast.
this is a beautiful picture
i love your blog, and the idea behind it
very cool
come to think of it…no one has grabbed my boobs all week…WTF!
that first photo is killing me! makes me wish we had blinds in our house.
we’re off to a concert tonight. my morning wish is that i’m not too hungover and that the hotel breakfast & coffee are decent.
My wish today is that I could be as steadfast, simple and beautiful as you are as you go about your daily nurturing activities…if you’re an 11 in that category than I’m a 1 or a 2…maybe…I have a long way to go…I try to fill in the gaps by not scaring chilldren too much on the street…if they look at me bewildered I quickly say with a sheepish grin “it’s ok…I’m in clown college and I’m having trouble with my smiling class…” they usually accept that but the parents quickly usher them away…my secret agenda accopmplished…perhaps…I just admire you…you’re beautiful and it’s so great that you can share your moment to moment thoughts and experiences with us…AND…Boy, do I have a book for you: “Continuum Concept”…don’t remember the female author’s name…read it in the early 90’s…I was so impressed that I gave it to a psyciatrist I worked with at the time and he later thanked me for it and incorporated it’s research into his own child rearing. The book clearly refutes all those ideas about children not individuating of differentiating (from the undifferentiated ego mass of Mommy and me…you know) The author studied a “primitive” culture where the women hold the babies “in arms experience” all day long while they work in the fields and they sleep in the parental bed (you have to be careful not to roll over on the baby of course) the results of her research revealed that there was zero incidence of so called “personality disorders” among the young men. In fact, they end up robust and fully individuated and devoted to their families…particularly Mummy…so…keep it up sister…they’ll love you for it…they’ll push you away later of course but the bond will be secure and timeless and they will be far more likely to take care of you when you’re older….carrying the baby on your chest face inward in such a way that they can hear your heart beat is highly recommended…but don’t take my word for…check out the book…probably not easy to find but that’s the jist of it anyway…maybe John Antonucci, MD still has the copy I gave hime although I think he gave it back…he was a good dude and an unusal father from what I could see…he carried his baby way….I’m at Starbucks now watching the street scene unfold from the beautiful second floor Greatroom at the Harvard Square store and soon…one more cup…I’ll be ready to go walking around to gather more intelligence for you…Peace and God Bless You beautiful Mommy!!!!
I am really enjoying your blog and the pictures are fabulous! I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! Come on over to pick it up!
http://fortyandfeelingit.wordpress.com And keep up the great work!
My wish list would include having a planned outline for the day. Some days I get caught up with time wasting stuff and then try to figure out why my assignment didn’t get written.
Thanks for this post. I enjoyed it!
